This is a blog about our experience building a home in the Praire style in the suburbs of Washington DC. The blog is more a sequence of photos with some words to describe the process. At times it also is a place to give our frustration and joy in the whole process.

Paper on the roof
The inspector is heading up the ladder to check out things for himself... And his assistant is standing by waiting for the catch all order...
The guys are flying high trying to get the screened porch done... They were able to finish it today.
There is a feeling of a cathedral in the wide open second floor. I am standing in the corner of the office looking back at the great room.. You can see the two openings for the screen porch and dining room deck.
And the paper is going on. Instead of tar paper, we are using a synthetic material which is harder to tear, completely water proof and lighter than tar paper. It comes in 10 square rolls with a 48" width.
